Penobscot Coastal Native American Double Bow
The Penobscot Native American bow features a unique and versatile “double bow” design. This type of bow was the very first compound bow produced by hand. The Penobscot are a tribe of Native American that lived, hunting, and roamed throughout the Eastern Woodlands and Coastal regions. In their travels the need for a POWERFUL bow made with less then solid materials appeared. The “double bow” design was the answer they found. The first bow measures 68 inches from tip to tip and is built in a stable pyramid bow design. This design is well know for providing maximum power with little hand shock. Attached to the back of the first bow is the supporting second bow. The two bows work together to give the archer the most BANG for the BUCK. This back bow (or second bow) is slightly reflexed and helps to reduce string follow. String follow can rob the bow of the energy needed to throw an arrow with greater speed and power. Another advantage of the second bow is that the archer can adjust and tune the bow so that it matches the spine of the arrows used. A simple twist of the back string will raise or lower the draw weight of your bow. The bow is 100 percent wood with no backing to give you that primitive look and feel. It is true to the original designs used 500 years ago. Simply put, this design offers the most in speed, power, accuracy, and customization. You simply can not go wrong with this ancient, yet modern wooden bow. Since this is a solid wood hunting class bow, a 6 month replacement warranty is offered on this product.
