The bow is similar to those recovered from the Mary Rose,
a warship that sank in 1545.
The bow is 76 inches long, with a draw length up to 32
inches, and a draw weight of up to 50 pounds. The bow is made
from select Red Oak backed with linen. The limbs are
tillered slightly wider than the original. As with warbows of
that day, there is no handle wrap but rather a small indentation
to indicate hand placement.
The bow is permanently finished and needs no maintenance. Instructions and a stringer are included with the bow.
